A brief History of Dalgety street

William Dalgety Moore (1835 – 1910) was a prominent businessman in Fremantle. He founded W.D. Moore & Co, joined WA’s first legislative council, and was the first president of the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce. He owned the land later divided into Woodside Estate. All the land east of Dalgety up to Petra street had been planted with grapevines by Moore until the subdivision.

Dalgety Street was a street of Doctors- Dr East at 16 Dalgety St (1931-1949), Dr Dermer at 19 Dalgety St (1938-1949), Dr Hallion at 33 Dalgety St ( c. 1940), Dr Geoff Stevens (Pediatrician) and his wife Mary at 29 Dalgety (1978 to mid 1990?)
