It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust bay and a gabled roofed porch. The porch is supported on square columns set on piers. The porch roof extends across the thrust bay. The thrust bay features a chimney breast and chimney flanked by casement windows. There is a central door flanked by sets of lead lighted casement windows.

1947 Also charged with having failed to comply with regulations contained in a permit issued by the Workers' Homes Board was Victor Dowd, building contractor, of Fremantle. He pleaded guilty and was fined £5, with £3/9/ costs. Mr. J. Dunphy for Dowd, said that the permit had been issued to an exnaval rating named Murphy, who found that the price of the house was too high. Dowd then offered to build the house on his own block of land and to rent it to Murphy. Before the house was completed. Murphy died and because Dowd had built on a block not specified in the permit, he was prosecuted. Dowd already had one house and was willing to rent this to anyone the Court specified. The Petra Street elevation is asymmetrically composed with a thrust bay and curved rendered porch. The porch is flanked by sets of casement and fixed light windows. The south elevation features a flat roofed concrete verandah.

The roofscape features a rendered chimney and finials. Walls to the front elevation are tuck-pointed brick with rendered string courses. Since 2006 paint has been removed from the front elevation to reveal the original house finishes. Side elevations remain painted.

1950 Man Hits His Daughter. When Joyce Lorraine Bulliard, of Petra-st, East Fremantle, intervened in a quarrel between her mother and father last night she was struck above the right eye. This was said in Fremantle Police Court today when lumper Albert Edward Bulliard (51) denied having assaulted his daughter. Miss Bulliard said that her mother had gone out to visit some friends. About 8 p.m. she and her father went out to meet her mother. He had been drinking but was not drunk. They met Mrs. Bulliard and on the way home an argument started between her and her husband. Miss Bulliard intervened and was abused by her father. When they arrived at the yard of their home, Bulliard struck his daughter. The Magistrate placed Bulliard on a £10 bond to be of good behaviour for three months, and ordered him to pay 7/ costs. (reference)

1929 Cyclists Seriously injured. About 9 o'clock last night a motor cycle ridden by Steven Anderson (22), of Point Walter-road Bicton, and a bicycle ridden by Robert Caird (14), of Petra-street, East Fremantle, collided in Fraser-street, East Fremantle: The riders we're thrown to the road, and the cycles badly damaged. Man and boy were taken to the Fremantle Hospital by the St-John ambulance. Anderson suffered from concussion and head injuries and Caird from a fractured right thigh and injuries to the left wrist and ear. No 131 Petra Street is a single storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a gable tiled roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Porch style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust gable bay and a part width hip roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on Tuscan columns sitting on square piers. The gable bay features a set of casement windows under a sunhood. There is a centrally located front door which is flanked by casement windows.

No 137 Petra Street is a single storey house constructed in limestone and rendered brick house a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War California Bungalow style. The place sits on a corner lot and addresses both Petra Street and Fraser Street. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a wide gabled roof porch to the south. The porch features half-timbering and is set on paired stout columns set over limestone pier. A rendered balustrade spans between the piers. It is an expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust bay and a full width return bull-nosed roofed verandah. The verandah extends across the thrust bay and is supported on timber posts. A St Andrew’s cross balustrade spans between the posts. The thrust bay features a set of double hung sashes and fixed light window. There is a central door flanked by a set of double hung sashes and fixed light window. The roofscape features a masonry chimney.

1940 Unusual Accident. Tins of cream and condensed milk were scattered over the roadway in an unusual accident in Cantonment-street, Fremantle, at about 12.45 p.m. yesterday. A motor truck operated by the Nestle and Anglo-Swiss Condensed Milk Co. (Aust.), Ltd., was travelling west in Cantonment-street, loaded with tins of cream and condensed milk, over which there was a tarpaulin. Apparently a corner of the tarpaulin became caught in the near rear wheel, pulling the load towards that side of the vehicle. The truck veered towards the side of the road, where it struck an electric light pole, knocking it out of position, and a large part of the load was strewn on the roadway. The driver of the truck was Reginald Edgar, of 147 Petra-street, East Fremantle. (reference)
