Inter-War

Californian Bungalow

No 29 Walter Street is a single-storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable tiled roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Porch style. It is asymmetrically composed with a half-timbered gable roofed porch. The porch sits proud of the house and is supported on square piers. A rendered balustrade spans between the piers. There is a central door flanked by sets of casement lead light windows. The windows are protected by shallow tiled awnings. The roofscape features a brick chimney. The front walls are rendered with a face brick band below sill level.

No 31 Walter Street is a two storey timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust gable bay and a part width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on timber posts with post brackets. The southern section of the verandah has been modified to suit a two storey addition. It now operates as a two storey verandah with a gable roof. The gable bay features a set of casement windows under a sunhood. There is a central door flanked by sets of casement windows. The place is largely obscured by plantings.
