Austerity Influences
No 31 Walter Street is a two storey timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust gable bay and a part width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on timber posts with post brackets. The southern section of the verandah has been modified to suit a two storey addition. It now operates as a two storey verandah with a gable roof. The gable bay features a set of casement windows under a sunhood. There is a central door flanked by sets of casement windows. The place is largely obscured by plantings.
