No 32 Hamilton Street is a single storey house constructed in rendered brick with a gable tiled roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War California Bungalow style. The place is largely obscured by later additions. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with gabled roofs and a part width flat roofed verandah to one side. The entry door is obscured by a garage. The garage is a later addition. The roofscape features a rendered chimney.

1933 By the unanimous request of the members of the East Fremantle Council, Cr. John Munro nominated for the position of Mayor, rendered vacant through the death of Mr. J. F. Allen,and was elected, unopposed. Mr. Munro has represented the East Ward of the district on the council continuously for the past seven years, and has latterly filled the office of town treasurer. His association with East Fremantle extends back over 20 years, and he has been actively associated with practically every social welfare movement in the district. At present he holds the well as the president of the East Fremantle Unemployed Relief Committee. The sport of tennis has claimed his interest, and he is one of the foundation members and a life member, as well as the president of the East Fremantle Tennis Club. He is an elder of the Presbyterian Church, a director of the Fremantle branch of the British Sailors' Society, an organisation which tends to the social welfare of seamen while in port, and a member of the committee of the Shiplovers' Society. The election of Mr. Munro is well merited, and he has many well-wishers for a successful term of office. (reference)
1934 A Popular Mayor. The retiring Mayor of East Fremantle (Mr. John Munro) was entertained by the councillors in the East Fremantle Council Chambers last Friday night to afford them an opportunity of expressing their appreciation of his services to the municipality, and to make a presentation...Mr. Munro expressed regret that pressure of business forced him to relinquish office, and he praised the work of the councillors, the Town Clerk (Mr. H. H. Parker), and the staff and employees of the council. Mr Munro was the recipient of a chiming clock. (reference)
