ARCHITECTURE

Inter-War / Inter-War Bungalow w Federation Influences

No 32 Osborne Road is a single storey house constructed in limestone, brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable tiled roof. It is a fine expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a full width return verandah. The return verandah terminates at a thrust gable bay. The verandah is supported on timber posts. A vertical timber balustrade spans between the posts. The front elevation features a corner suite and a set of casement windows and hopper lights. The entrance door is located on the south elevation under the return verandah. The roofscape features rendered chimneys and finials. There are render string courses. The place sits on limestone foundations.

1944 Death on September 23, at his late residence, 32 Osborne-road, East Fremantle, Alfred Joseph, dearly beloved husband of Mary Ann Harrison, loved uncle of Alma Pedersen (Mt. Lawley). Privately interred in the Wesleyan portion of the Karrakatta Cemetery on September 25 by Prosser, Scott and Co. the Rev W. E. Freeman officiated at the graveside. (reference)
