ARCHITECTURE
Inter-War Arts & Crafts Bungalow
No 17 Walter Street is a single storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gabled tiled roof. It is a fine expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust gable bay and a full width and return hip roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on short timber posts set over rendered piers. The verandah roof extends over the gable bay. A prominent gable sits centrally on the roofscape. The gable bay sits in front of the main gable. Both gables feature weatherboard cladding. The front elevation features a set of casement windows and a pair of doors. The entry door is located on the south elevation under the return verandah. The lower walls are rendered and the upper walls are face brick. The roofscape features a tall brick chimney and finials.
