Part of the 1st Prize winners recipe in the 12 Jan 1930 Sunday Times (reference)
Ingredients:
2 cups of sugar
3 cups of water
Juice of 2 lemons
2 cups of grated pineapple
Method:
Boil water and sugar together for 10 minutes
Cool, then add lemon juice and pineapple
Pack in salt and ice and freeze to a mush
