Inter-War Bungalow w Arts & Crafts Influences
No 53 Staton Street is a single storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable tiled roof. It is a fine expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust gable bay and a part width return broken back roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on square rendered piers. A balustrade spans between the piers. The return verandah has been enclosed. The verandah terminates at thrust bays at both ends. The half-timbered gable bay features a set of casement windows under a tiled awning. There is a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and a set of casement windows. The roofscape features a rendered chimneys and finials. The lower walls are rendered and the upper walls are face brick.
