1929 Cheese and Marrow Foldovers

4th Prize Winner in the 5 May 1929 Sunday Times (reference)

Ingredients:

  • 1 marrow

  • Pancake batter

  • Grated cheese

  • Salt and pepper

  • Butter

Method:

  1. Prepare and boil the marrow till tender, drain it well and crush it up

  2. Prepare the batter as for pancakes and fry it the same way

  3. Spread each pancake with marrow and sprinkle with grated cheese, pepper and salt

  4. Roll up, sift over with cheese and serve while hot
