ARCHITECTURE

Interwar / Bungalow Porch House 

No 40 Windsor Road is a single storey house constructed in painted brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Porch style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust bay and a half timbered gable roofed porch. The porch is supported on square columns set on limestone piers. An addition has been constructed to the south in a similar style to the existing place. The roof of the addition extends over the thrust bay to act as a sunhood. There is front door is located under the porch and flanked by sets of casement windows. Lower walls are painted brick and the upper walls are rendered. The roofscape features a brick chimney.
