ARCHITECTURE
Interwar Bungalow Porch House
No 40 Fortescue Street is a single storey house constructed in painted brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Porch style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with staggered wall planes. The facade features a gable roofed porch supported on Tuscan columns set on masonry piers. A rendered balustrade spans between the piers. There is a central door flanked by sets of three casement windows. The painted brick is from ground to sill level with rendered brick above. There are concrete steps from the verandah to the garden. The roofscape features a painted brick chimney.
