Interwar Bungalow Porch House with Arts & Crafts Influences
No 34 Windsor Road is a single storey house constructed in limestone, brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is asymmetrically composed with a gable bay and a part width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on rusticated brick piers. The verandah terminates at the gabled bay. The gable bay features vents and a set of double hung sash windows. The gable is also rendered and jetties over the wall plane. There is a central door flanked by double hung sash windows. The place sits on limestone foundations. The roofscape features a brick chimney.
HISTORY
1923 An engagement of interest to South-West friends is that of Miss Mary Fowler, daughter of Chas. K. Fowler, of "Glen Mervyn," Preston, to Mr. Frank Tourner Back, only son of Edward W. T. Back, of Lily Street, South Fremantle. Both families are old Westralians. (reference)
