Late Victorian / Early Federation , Gable Domestic Carpenter w Georgian Influences
No. 31 (previously was no. 75) Sewell street is a single story cottage constructed in timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a gable corrugated iron roof. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a central door flanked by a double hung sash window and a door. One former front window has been converted to a door leading on to the verandah. The facade features a full width skillion roofed verandah supported on timber posts
HISTORY
1905 Death on November 30, at 75 Sewell-street, East Fremantle, John Laurie, beloved husband of Elizabeth Laurie, aged 37 years. (reference)
1911 Flies on Window panes.—Boil a good-sized onion in a pint and a half of water until the quantity is reduced to half. Strain. Dip a sponge into the water, and rub over the panes with it.
