ARCHITECTURE
No 25 Allen Street is a single storey house constructed in brick with a gambrel and gabled iron roof. It is a fine expression of the Federation Arts and Crafts style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a full width return broken back and skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is set on timber posts with post brackets. There is a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and double hung sash windows. The facade features rendered string courses. The roofscape features a pair of rendered cap chimneys.
HISTORY
1930 Funeral. The Friends of the late Mrs. Mary Catherine Box, widow of the late Thomas Box, of the Fremantle Harbor Trust, are respectfully invited to follow her remains to the place of interment, the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fremantle.
