ARCHITECTURE

No 23 Alexandra Road is a single-storey house constructed in timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is a fine expression of the Federation Bungalow style. It is asymmetrically composed with a thrust gable bay and a part-width return bull-nosed roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on turned timber posts with brackets and a frieze. The verandah terminates at the thrust bay. The gable bay features a window under a sunhood. There is a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and a window. The windows are double hung sashes flanked by sidelights.

HISTORY

1927 Hit By Motor Lorry. Man Injured in Perth. John McKinnon (49), ot 456 Hay street, Perth, met with an accident at the corner of St. George's-terrace and Barrack-street at 12.45 pm. Yesterday. According to James Kershaw, of East Fremantle, who was driving a motor lorry around the corner, McKinnon stepped from the kerb and walked into the side of the lorry.
