ARCHITECTURE
Federation, Georgian Influences
No. 14 (previously was no. 34) Hubble street is a single storey cottage constructed in masonry with a hipped corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Federation Cottage Bungalow style. The place has been extensively modified in the twenty-first century. It is symmetrically planned with a central door and hopper light flanked by side lights and double hung sash windows. The facade features a full width skillion roofed verandah supported on masonry piers. A low masonry wall spans between the piers.

1946 Friendly Service. Westoe is an invalid, but has a chair and would like to hear from any Virgilians or friends living in or about East Fremantle who would kindly take her out once or maybe twice a week, as she is unable to get around at the moment. She is an invalid pensioner and couldn't pay the good samaritan very much. Any Virgilian who will oblige please write to Mrs. I. J. Bell, or call at 14 Hubble-street, East Fremantle. (reference)
1946 Westoe sends Thanks to Pinner. Just a few lines to tell you that Pinner (Mrs. Ford) has been to see me again to take me out in the wheelchair. We went to the Fremantle rally and I quite enjoyed myself, and got home again about 4 pm… I do look forward to my outings once a fortnight, and would be grateful for any one else who could call in now and then to take me out in the wheelchair.
