HISTORY
1934 Boys Marooned. Night On A Wreck. Dinghy Breaks Loose. Two Fremantle boys were marooned in stormy weather on the wreck of the stranded ship Lygnern, which lies outside Fremantle Harbour, from Monday morning until early yesterday afternoon. When a boat which had been used by the boys was discovered badly battered and waterlogged near the slipway at the North Mole yesterday morning, great anxiety was felt. A rescue party set out, scarcely hoping to find any trace of the boys, but when they reached the wreck the youngsters were found safe and quite unconcerned at their plight. The boys were Matthews, Leo (14) of 10 View-terrace, East Fremantle and Robb, James of 29 De Lisle-street, North Fremantle. (reference)
