ARCHITECTURE

No 183 Canning Highway is a single storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped and gable tiled roof. The place is an expression of the Federation Queen Anne style that has been extensively modified. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a full width, return hip roofed verandah. The verandah terminates at the diagonal gables and is supported on paired steel posts. The steel posts replace original timber. There is a central door set in an arched alcove flanked by roundel windows. Diagonally oriented bay windows with casement and hopper lights flank the roundel windows. Gables sit above the diagonal windows. Details include string courses and rendered architraves.
