ARCHITECTURE
Federation Bungalow
No. 72 (previously was no. 108) East street is a single storey house constructed in brick with a hipped and gabled corrugated iron roof. It is a fine expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is symmetrically planned with a central door flanked by windows. There is a gabled roof facing onto the street and hipped roofs over the remainder of the house. The facade features is a full width skillion roofed verandah that extends across the front elevation and is supported on turned timber posts.

1948 Terse Reunion Over A Hamburger. Chuckles were heard in the Divorce Court when Kondut farmer Charles Robert Carter described his first meeting with his wife Violet after she suddenly left him without any explanation.It was in April, 1944, Carter told the court, when he first went to his home in East Fremantle and found his wife was not there. 'My wife was working in a William-st hamburger and eating Joint when I found her,' Carter explained.
