Federation Domestic Carpenter Villa

No. 70 (previously was no. 148) Sewell street is a single story cottage constructed in timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped and gabled corrugated iron roof. It is a simple expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a gabled thrust bay and part width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on turned timber posts. The able bay features a set of three casement windows. The windows appear to be a replacement. There is a central door flanked by a set of three casement windows.

1950 Two Injured. Two men who were hit by cars on metropolitan roads last night were taken to hospital with injuries… Thomas Rees (56), of Canning-highway, East Fremantle, was struck as he was crossing Canning-highway, near Gill-street, East Fremantle, about 7.30 o'clock. He was taken in a St. John ambulance to the Fremantle Hospital and admitted with probable fractures of two ribs and collarbone and lacerations to the scalp.
