ARCHITECTURE
Post War Porch House/ Bungalow with Art Deco & Modern Influences
No. 63 Fortescue Street is a single-storey house constructed in brick and rendered brick with a hipped, tiled roof. It is a simple expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust bay and a part-width, flat-roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on rendered piers with a rendered balustrade spanning between them. The verandah roof extends across the thrust bay to become a sunhood. The thrust bay features a set of casement windows and there is a central door flanked by casement windows. The lower walls are face brick and the upper walls are rendered.
The place retains its basic form and details, however, there are additions to the rear.
The place is consistent with the building pattern in the Precinct and it plays an important role in the pattern of development of a middle-class suburb.
