ARCHITECTURE
Post War Decorated Porch House Bungalow w Art Deco Influences
No 57 Pier Street is a storey house constructed in rendered brick with a hipped tiled roof. It is an expression of the Inter-War Mediterranean style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust bay and a flat roofed porch. The porch is curved in plan and is supported on Tuscan columns. The thrust bay features a set of casement and fixed light windows under a flat roofed sunhood. There is a central door flanked by casement and fixed light windows. The roofscape features a rendered chimney.
The place retains its form and most of its details. There are additions to the rear. A garage has been added to the house in the front setback. The lot has been subdivided and a residence built to the rear.
