1912 Auction Sale of Superior House-Hold Furniture and Effects. On the premises 114 Sewell-street, East Fremantle-Wednesday January 17 Bull and Fisher have been instructed by Mr. G. Uren to Sell, Absolutely Without Reserve, the following almost new Furniture and Effects: Massive double bed (blue and gold), dresser, chairs, couch (spring), Singer sewing machine, chenille hall curtains, 2 folding chairs, B.M. child's cot, linoleums, large safe, mangle, Mrs. Potts' irons, kitchen and dining tables, pictures, toilet-sets, copper, R chair, arm-chair, hand machine, washstands dressing tables, mirrors, tubs, wash-bench, bucket, quantity garden tools, and host of sundries... Robina Blair (nee Anderson, nee Baxter) (1881-1963) Lived at 54 Sewell St (was 114) from 1913-1949
She was born Robina Baxter—Father James Baxter, mother Helen. It is not know when she came to Australia. In 1903 she married Alexander Makintosh Anderson (1867- 1925)- he was 14 years younger.
1903 Marriage on September 16, at Congregational Church, Saunders street Leederville, Alexander Mackintosh Anderson, Locomotive Engine driver, ninth son of the late Thomas Duff Anderson, Marine Engineer, Dundee, Scotland, to Robina Baxter, daughter of the late James Baxter, Calender-worker, Dundee, Scotland.
Three daughters were born in Northam; 1904—Helen Anne ‘Nellie’ Anderson, 1906- Robina ‘Ruby’ B Anderson and in 1908—Isabella ’Belle’ M. Anderson.
1925 Death on Tuesday, March 17, at 114 Sewell-street, East Fremantle, Alexander Mackintosh Anderson (Sandy), beloved husband of Robina, loving father of Nellie, Ruby, Bell. A patient sufferer at rest. Peace, perfect peace. (reference) Alexander was only aged 58.
1925 Obituary. The funeral of the late Mr. Alexander Mackintosh ("Sandy") Anderson took place on Thursday afternoon, March 19, the cortege leaving his late residence, 114 Sewell street, East Fremantle, and proceeding to the Presbyterian portion of the Fremantle Cemetery… Deceased had for many years been associated with the West Australian Government Railways (W A.G.R.) as crane driver. He had been a resident of this State for the past 33 years, and he leaves a widow and three daughters. The pall-bearers were: Messrs. P. Bullmore (representing Loyal West Lodge, W.A.C.), Jolley (foreman, Loco.Works), C. Doig and J. Mitchell (representing Fremantle Caledonian Society), R. Kavanagh and J. Bolt. The casket-bearers were: Messrs. W. Smith, J. Stoddart, J. Groves and Stewart. The chief mourners were: Misses Helen, Robina and Isabella (daughters), Mr. D. Anderson (brother) and Mr. Ramsay (brother-in-law) (reference)
In 1927 Robina Anderson married Thomas Brown Blair (1869-1968)
In 1929 Helen ‘Nellie’’ Anne Anderson married Thomas C. Nunn. Helen died in 1959
1933 Robina B ‘Ruby’ Anderson (daughter) married Henry R Patterson
1936 Isabella Anderson married Vincent Nevin
1937 Death on December 1, at his late residence, 114 Sewell-street, East Fremantle, Thomas Brown Blair, dearly beloved stepfather of Nell (Mrs. Nunn), Ruby (Mrs. Patterson), Bell (Mrs. Nevin), father-in-law of Tom, Harry, Vince, granddad of Alex, Harry, Tommy and Barbara. Dear Pop. (reference) Thomas Blair was also a member of the Thistle Lodge and Caledonian Club (Robina was a member).
From 1940 it seems Nell and Thomas must have lived at the house with Robina
Robina Blair died in Armadale in 1963 aged 82 years old.
