ARCHITECTURE

Federation, Federation Bungalow w Queen Anne Influences

No. 45 (previously was no. 105) Sewell street is a single story house constructed in rendered masonry with a hipped corrugated iron roof. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust gable bay and part width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on timber columns with a decorative frieze. The half-timbered gable bay features a decorative window. There is a central door flanked by a double hung sash window.

HISTORY

1914 The funeral of the late Thomas John Sampey, eldest son of Mr. John Sampey, of the East Fremantle Municipal Council, and also a member of the Joshua Harwood Juvenile Lodge, M.U. I.O.O.F, took place on Saturday afternoon, the 14th Inst, and was largely attended. 1933 Following Argument at East Fremantle Two men were injured following an argument in a hotel at East Fremantle yesterday afternoon. Isiah Wauhope (44), of Duke-street, East Fremantle received injuries to the left eye and had several stitches inserted in the wound, while William Brown, of 45 Sewell-street, East Fremantle, suffered a broken nose and rib injuries when he fell against a counter.
