HISTORY
My grandparents John and Olive Birrell owned and lived in this house from about 1930 until 1975. I was pleased to see that the house is almost the same as what I remember and that it has not been demolished,
Please see the detailed story of Olive Birrell and her husband John under Notable People section. This was largely researched and written by Dianne Dench in 2020.
1931 Dear Auntie Kitty.—This is the first time I have written to you and I hope to be acknowledged as one of your many nieces. I am eleven years of age, and I am in Standard VI at Richmond State School. I have a little half-breed Pomeranian pup named Digger, which is a greyish color, and I have also a little black and white kitten whose name is Mitten. I am entering for the September Puzzle and hope to be among the lucky winners... Joan Smith, 30 Windsor-road, East Fremantle. (reference)
