HISTORY

158 Canning Highway was the home of Horace Hill Parker, the first Town Clerk of East Fremantle. Parker lived at this address until his death in 1944. Thereafter, his daughter Dorothea Laura Hill Parker lived at this residence. She was the first West Australian-born woman to practice as a doctor in WA. 1933 Mr. and Mrs. H. Parker, of Canning-road, East Fremantle, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Camm, have returned from a delightful tour of the South-west. Mrs. Camm (Dr. Dorothea Parker) has completely recovered from her recent illness. (reference)
