Son of Alexander and Mary Muir Swinton; Husband of Janet Coen (formerly Swinton) of 20 Allen St, East Fremantle, WA. Born In Scotland. Soldier was admitted to the Sutton Very Military Hospital on 25 Jun 1918 with Influenza. One week later he was discharged. KIA in France 5 Oct 1918.

Hancourt, France. Pioneers of the 5th Division filling in mine craters at the main cross roads. The explosion of these craters was part of the German effort to delay the advance of allied troops.
