HISTORY

Corporal HERBERT LEONARD COLLINGS

Corporal Herbert Leonard Collings (883) was born and educated in South Australia. He enlisted on the 8th January, 1917, and after training at Blackboy Camp sailed for England on the 29th January, 1917. On his arrival there he went to Bordon Camp for further training and then crossed to France. He worked on the railways immediately behind the lines until the 25th April, 1919, when he left for Australia, arriving home on the 3rd August, 1919. He is at present employed in the W.A.G.R.” (Australia’s Fighting Son’s of the Empire pg64)
