ARCHITECTURE
Inter-War
Inter-War Californian Bungalow
No 160 Preston Point Road is a single-storey house constructed in limestone and rendered brick with a hipped and gable tiled roof. It is a fine expression of the Inter-War California Bungalow style. The place sits on a corner lot that addresses both Preston Point Road and Gordon Street. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a gable bay and a gable roofed porch. The half-timbered porch is supported on pairs of Tuscan columns set on piers. The half-timbered gable bay features a bay window under a tiled awning. There is an addition to the west in the same plane as the gable bay. The addition features another bay window. There is front door with sidelights under the porch. A broad set of steps leads down to the driveway from the porch. The place sits on limestone foundations. The roofscape features finials.
