No. 98 (previously was no. 182) King street is a single storey cottage of timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped decramastic roof. 1944 Dying Man Cries For His Dog. A 61 Year-Old, bed-ridden, dying man has lost his dog. Bill, smoky-white-and-black cocker spaniel, has been the old man's constant companion since he came to the house as a puppy 12 months ago, and was given the name of the old man's airman son. His master has taught him to fetch the paper every morning, bring him magazines which are out of reach of the bed, get him a clean handkerchief out of the drawer, which is left open so that Bill can get to it easily. A half-hour's run each morning has been the only time Bill has left his home at 98 King Street, East Fremantle, during the day. Last Tuesday morning he went for his run and did not return. Neighbours have searched the district, calling for him, making inquiries, but to no purpose. Meanwhile Bill's bed-ridden master is fretting and crying for him. If anyone recognises Bill, will he or she please take the dog back to his home? (reference)
