No. 96 (previously was no. 178) King street is a single storey cottage constructed in timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a gabled corrugated iron roof. It is a simple expression of the Inter-War Bungalow style with later modifications. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with an offset entry door and hopper light. The door is flanked by sidelights and double hung sash windows. The facade features a full width skillion roofed verandah supported on timber posts set on a timber floor.
