ARCHITECTURE
Late Victorian / Early Federation, Georgian Influences
No 69 Glyde Street is a single storey residence constructed in brick with a hipped corrugated iron roof. It is a fine example of a Federation Bungalow style house. The front elevation is symmetrically planned with a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and double hung sash windows. The façade features a full width bullnose roofed verandah supported on turned timber posts over a timber floor.

1900 The "West Australian Shilling War Fund. For The Absent-Minded Beggar." It has been suggested that a Shilling Fund should be opened by us, to give an opportunity to even the poorest people in the community to show their practical sympathy with the wives and children of sorely wounded and poverty-stricken soldiers, and the widows and orphans of those who have sacrificed their lives for Queen and country. We gladly adopt the suggestion, and undertake to acknowledge all sums which may be sent to us: ...Employees of the Fremantle Harbour Workshops—W. Scoble (reference)
