ARCHITECTURE

No. 66 Allen Street was a single storey house constructed in rendered brick with a corrugated iron roof- an expression of the Inter-War Mediterranean Bungalow.

HISTORY

1942 Engaged. Kathleen Beryl, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. McPherson, 66 Allen-street, East Fremantle to Alan, second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Beale of Palmyra. (reference)

1945 Birth on October 27, at Sister Bathgate's to Cpl and Mrs A. G. Woollams, of 66 Allen-street, East Fremantle. Triplets were born (two sons and a daughter, one stillborn. Two lived half-an-hour). Premature. Strictly no visitors for seven days. (reference)

1953 Mr. and Mrs. R. McPherson, 66 Allen-street, East Fremantle wish to thank their many friends and relatives for cards, letters, telegrams, floral tributes and personal expressions of sympathy in the sad loss of their dear brother Ben Kain. (reference)

Grandad was in a syndicate at work (he worked on the Wharf) which won the lottery that is how they afforded to build the home They had 4 children Eileen, Mary, Kathleen & Douglas (my Dad born in 1934) & 10 Grandchildren.
