Gable Cottage with Regency Influences

No. 63 (previously was no. 129) Sewell street is a single story house constructed in rendered brick with a gable corrugated iron roof. It is a fine expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a gable thrust bay and a full-width skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is supported timber posts over a timber floor. The gable bay features decorative barges and double hung sash windows. There is a central door and hopper lights flanked by sidelights and a window. The window is a double hung sash window flanked by sidelights.

HISTORY

1909 Auction At Koh-I-Noor, 129 Sewell-street, East Fremantle. Harry Wilson and Co. have received instructions from G. P. Bray, Esq., who is leaving Fremantle, to Sell, at his residence, as above Walnut trichord piano, "Julius Feurich" rich-toned instrument; piano stool, artistic bamboo suite, 6 chairs and settee; 2 occ. tables, handsome overmantel, h. rugs, curtains, new linos., first quality; massive 6ft. sideboard, richly carved; dining table, Bay Mare and Harness...
