ARCHITECTURE

No 24 Allen Street is a single storey house constructed in rendered brick with a hipped and gable format corrugated iron roof. It is a good expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust gable bay and part width return skillion roofed verandah. The verandah is set on turned timber posts. The verandah terminates on a gabled thrust bay. There is a central door and hopper light flanked by sidelights and pairs of single pane, double hung sash windows.

1933 Car and Trick Collide. Police Sergeant Injured. John Styant (46), of 24 Allen street, East Fremantle, a sergeant of police stationed at Fremantle, received facial abrasions when a motor car which he was driving and a motor truck driven by Antonio Fortini, of Bibra Lake, collided at the intersection of Forrest-road and Cook-road, Hamilton Hill, about 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Sergeant Styant was taken to the Fremantle Hospital in the St. John ambulance and detained for treatment. (reference)
