ARCHITECTURE

Federation / Domestic Carpenter Bungalow

No. 11 (previously was no. 29) Preston Point road is a single storey house constructed in timber framing and weatherboard cladding with a hipped and gable corrugated iron roof. It is a simple expression of the Federation Bungalow style. The front elevation is asymmetrically planned with a thrust gable bay and a full width bull-nosed roofed verandah. The verandah is supported on timber posts. A vertical timber balustrade spans between the posts. The rear section of the return verandah has been enclosed. The gable bay features a set of multi pane casement windows and a hopper light. There is a central door flanked by casement windows. The roofscape features a render capped chimney. A set of stairs lead down to the garden from the verandah.
